The Nexus Market

Overview

The Nexus Market is the central trading hub where players buy and sell resources, components, modules, and alloys. All trades happen through the market — there's no direct player-to-player trading.

Items on the market are wrapped as boxed assets — standardized containers that hold resources, modules, or alloys for safe transfer between players.

Sale Types

BuyNow

Fixed-price listings. The seller sets a price and the first buyer to pay it gets the item.

  • Storage fees: 1% of listing price per day of listing duration, paid upfront when creating the listing (non-refundable)
  • Immediate transaction — no waiting

Auction

Competitive bidding listings. The seller sets a starting price and duration.

  • Anti-sniping protection: If a bid is placed in the final 5 minutes, the auction extends by 5 minutes. This prevents last-second sniping and encourages genuine price competition.
  • Storage fees: 0.5% of final sale price per day of listing duration, deducted from seller proceeds at completion
  • Highest bidder wins when the timer expires

Market Fee

A 3% fee is charged on all completed sales, deducted from the seller's proceeds. Factor this into your pricing.

Buying

  1. Search the market — Filter by item type, resource class, quality, or price range
  2. Evaluate listings — Check quality properties, compare prices
  3. Buy or bid — Purchase BuyNow items immediately, or place bids on auctions
  4. Collect your purchase — After a successful buy or auction win, retrieve the item from the market

Selling

  1. Prepare your item — The item must be in boxed form in your cargo
  2. Create a listing — Choose BuyNow or Auction, set your price and duration
  3. Wait for a buyer — Monitor your active listings
  4. Collect proceeds — Credits from completed sales are deposited to your corp balance (minus fees)

Uncollected Purchases

After buying an item or winning an auction, you have a pickup window to collect it. Uncollected items may incur additional storage fees, so retrieve your purchases promptly.

Trading Strategies

For New Players

  • Check market prices before selling — don't underprice rare or high-quality resources
  • Buy components you can't manufacture yet — sometimes purchasing is faster than researching and building
  • Start with BuyNow listings — they're simpler and faster to execute

Advanced Trading

  • Arbitrage — buy underpriced resources and resell at fair value
  • Quality premium — high-quality resources command significantly higher prices
  • Timing — list items when demand is high and supply is low
  • Auction strategy — bid early to establish position, but factor in anti-sniping extensions when planning
  • Vertical integration — mine, manufacture, and sell finished goods for maximum margin
